NEW SERIES: #BeadStorySeries “Chrystal”
I chose to begin my #BeadStorySeries (click link here for the full video) with my sister, Chrystal, as she has played a significant role in my creative journey. We were so close, only a year apart, and she was like my twin; we affectionately called her "Chrissy." Even though she passed away over 20 years ago, in September, the heartache still lingers, and for a long time, I felt like I was simply existing. Now, as I pursue my jewelry and art career, I often think about all the moments she couldn’t be there to celebrate with me or wear my pieces. But in a way, she is always with me in this creative process. When I joined the Bead Project at Urban Glass, I was drawn to working with clear and transparent glass because it had a “crystal-like” glow that reminded me of her. I’ve even named some of my jewelry pieces after her, like "Cowrie Crystal," allowing me to see and say her name whenever a purchase is made or when I describe the piece to a client. So, you see, she continues to be an important part of my journey, and I’m deeply grateful for that.
As I continue this series weekly, I would love to hear your #BeadStory for the #BeadStorySeries. I’d love to hear it! Email or DM me for more info on how you can be part of this special journey.
