Ayana Benjamin is a self-taught, Brooklyn born artist who designs jewelry, glass work, fiber art and hand lettering under the brand name Ayana B. Joy.  She is a glass flame-work artist specializing in ocean- and tropical-inspired jewelry crafted from sustainable materials. Her coastal-themed collection features sculptural pieces that incorporate seashells, floral elements, and organic beads. Inspired by her Grenadian heritage, Ayana creates pieces connected to her Caribbean roots from the black diaspora, indigenous culture, tropical elements and her love for calligraphy. She  divides her time between the Urban Glass Studio in Brooklyn, NY, and her home studio in Grenada, West Indies.
