Sparkling Cocoa Pod Ornament (CSFDG 2024 Holiday Box)

This Bead Story - CLICK -highlights the creation of the sparkling “Cocoa Pod” ornament for the @csfdgrenada CSFDG - Council on Sustainable Fashion & Design Grenada Holiday Box 2024, a transformative experience rooted in creativity and heritage. 

Collaborating with @csfdgrenada founder @shannenkayliaaa , I designed the Cocoa Pod ornament as a tribute to Grenada’s culture, inspired by childhood memories of cocoa tea and the warmth of family traditions. 

Motivated by my participation in the Sustainable Design Impact Hub, I used metallic glass remnants from my glass shell beads to craft the cocoa pod replica and incorporated my father’s line drawing through sandblasting, blending sustainability with artistry. 

This project has inspired a forthcoming collection of cocoa-themed earrings and glass jewelry for 2025, extending its influence beyond the holidays. I am deeply grateful to @csfdgrenada, @shopcsfdg @urbanglass_nyc and everyone who supported this meaningful journey, showcasing how design can preserve culture and inspire change.
